Job description

Position: Freelance Clothing Designer (Technical Apparel) Contract Type: Freelance / Project-Based Location: Remote Position Overview A growing lifestyle apparel brand is seeking a Freelance Clothing Designer with strong technical apparel design experience to support the development of an upcoming seasonal collection. This role is ideal for a designer who understands performance-driven garments while maintaining a strong streetwear and lifestyle aesthetic . The selected designer will work from established product frameworks to expand, refine, and evolve silhouettes, materials, and functional garment details for future releases.

Key Responsibilities Concept Development Develop new garment concepts aligned with overall brand direction and seasonal strategy. Refine and elevate existing product designs and silhouettes. Balance technical performance requirements with contemporary lifestyle aesthetics.

Technical Design Create detailed, production-ready tech packs for manufacturing. Specify materials, trims, closures, insulation, and construction methods. Ensure garment fit accuracy, comfort, and functional performance.

Recommend appropriate standards for waterproofing, breathability, durability, and wear performance where applicable. Sampling & Production Support Communicate directly with manufacturers regarding design revisions and updates. Review development samples and provide structured technical feedback.

Ensure designs are scalable, manufacturable, and production-ready. Trend & Market Awareness Identify relevant opportunities across seasonal trends and cultural influences. Recommend product improvements informed by consumer insights and product performance feedback.

Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in technical apparel or clothing design . Strong understanding of garment construction and performance fabrics. Proven experience developing professional manufacturing tech packs.

Ability to translate creative concepts into production-ready designs. Portfolio demonstrating relevant apparel work is required. Preferred Experience Background in snow, skate, outdoor, performance, or streetwear apparel .

Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers or development teams. Familiarity with performance materials and functional garment engineering. #J-18808-Ljbffr
