Description
Indoor Play Park Attendant
Do you have a passion for working with preschool-age children? Are you team-oriented and safety-conscious? If so, we want you on our team! We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Preschool Programs.
are responsible for setting up indoor play equipment, supervising participants, providing customer service and cleanup of indoor play park. This position requires moving equipment up to 50 lbs from a stage elevated height of 3.5ft to the gymnasium floor during set up and reverse to cleanup.
Pay Rate Range: $18.84 - $20.02 (based on experience)
The full hourly range for this job classification is $18.84 to $21.24. Staff may be eligible for a merit increase at the end of September.
Typical job hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Essential Job Functions
  • Independently run the indoor playpark area. Performs a general inspection of the equipment to ensure area is safe for use and report any damage or disrepair.
  • Set up, organize and monitor play; always ensure child safety.
  • Report all incidents/accidents to office staff, immediately, and complete necessary forms.
  • Turn off all equipment, i.e. lights, stereo, heating and air conditioning, etc. and properly secure the room at the end of work shift.
  • Greet the public; provide information and assistance regarding schedules, registration, program descriptions and other general information over the phone and in person.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service. Create a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous.
  • Practice safe work habits and contributes to the safety of self, co-workers and the general public.
  • Respect diversity in the workplace.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of supplies, prepare and submit purchase requests.
  • Perform first aid.
  • Attend staff meetings, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Ability to:
  • Lift small children and equipment, up to 50 pounds, from the floor to waist height.
  • Communicate courteously and cooperatively with other staff and the general public, on the telephone or in person.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other staff members, program participants and the general public.
  • Interpret, explain, follow and apply District policies and written instructions.
  • Perform general clerical work including maintenance of appropriate records and compiling information for reports.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
  • Speak clearly and concisely, in English, both verbally and in written form.

Licenses, Certificates, and other Requirements
  • Current First Aid and Infant/Child CPR Certification or ability to obtain upon hire, required.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.

Working Conditions
Duties are primarily performed indoors. Requires standing and walking for long periods of time. Incumbent is typically exposed to noises and interruptions, including sudden loud noises, and multiple voices within a crowded environment. The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time. Manual dexterity and coordination is required, making up more than 50% of the work period. Physical exertion may be to lift and carry small children and/or items weighing up to 25 pounds.

PART-TIME VARIABLE (PT): Part-time variable (PT) employees work less than 29 hours per week on average annually. However, they have the option of working additional hours during periods like summer or winter months. SEASONAL: Seasonal employment is temporary and allows employees to work only during certain times of the year, up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of six (6) consecutive months. Seasonal employees are eligible to receive benefits such as Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work). Effective February 15, 2026, seasonal employees will also be eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (PTO)!

Effective February 15, 2026 the accrual rate for PTO will increase to one (1) hour earned for every 23 hours worked and will include seasonal employees!
