Job description

The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated individuals for two Clerk 3 positions in the Collections Enforcement Section. The successful candidates will perform a variety of clerical and administrative support tasks for attorneys and other office staff. These positions will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be in person requirements for training and operational needs. The positions will be headquartered at any of our offices around Ohio: Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo, or Boardman.
The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Performs specialized clerical tasks (e.g., searches records; gathers and organizes data, information and summarizes preliminary reports, prepares files for legal or medical action and compiles information for use by professionals in preparing reports of legal or medical action; answers telephone, screens calls, and assists the public.
-Manages office records and/or files (e.g., sets up, maintains, verifies and records information into files; assists with sending case files for closing and storage).
-Performs general clerical tasks (e.g., orders, inventories and distributes supplies; filing; greets visitors; completes routine forms; maintains accurate records; responds to electronic and conventional mail; coordinates equipment placement and/or maintenance/repair with building maintenance, General Services, Information Technology Services and/or copier service reps).
-Acts as floater within section (e.g., assists with overflow clerical work as required).
-Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., types labels and/or forms; operates computer to enter and/or retrieve data; photocopies, faxes, scans and files materials).

Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages and decimals, and in reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary;
8 months training or 8 months experience in office practices and procedures;
4 months training or 4 months experience in using calculator or adding machine;
3 months training or 3 months experience in public relations.
Or 4 months experience as Clerk 2, 12112.
Or alternative, equivalent evidence of the Major Worker Characteristics noted above.
