Part-Time Cleaner

Position: Part-Time Cleaner

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM

Hours: 20 hours per week

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Location: Barre, VT

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have good attention to detail, and be able to work independently while following established cleaning and safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, floors, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and recycling from classrooms and common areas.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum classroom floors and other designated areas.
  • Clean and maintain the school lobby and entrance vestibules.
  • Clean and maintain stairwells, hallways, and other common areas.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the school.
  • Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Follow proper procedures for the use and storage of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Report maintenance, safety, or cleaning concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform other custodial duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely operate basic cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift supplies as required.
  • Must maintain a professional and respectful manner in a school environment.

Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM–10:00 PM$18.00 per hourPart-time: 20 hours per week
