What is a part time circulation assistant?

Part time circulation assistants are library staff members who work reduced hours and are primarily responsible for managing the circulation of library materials. Their duties typically include checking items in and out, assisting patrons with locating resources, shelving books, and maintaining accurate records of borrowed and returned items. They also help answer basic questions about library services and enforce library policies. This role is essential for ensuring libraries run smoothly and efficiently, especially during busy times or evenings and weekends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time circulation assistant?

To thrive as a Part Time Circulation Assistant, you need excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
