Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at Patrick Springs Primary School in Patrick Springs, VA for the 2026–2027 school year.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidate must meet one Virginia-approved qualification pathway:

  • Graduate degree in a child-related field (e.g., education, child development, nursing, recreation) with a minimum six (6) months of programmatic experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or endorsement in a child-related field with a minimum one (1) year of programmatic experience
  • Forty-eight (48) semester hours or seventy-two (72) quarter hours from an accredited college or university, including at least twelve (12) semester hours or eighteen (18) quarter hours in child-related subjects, and a minimum one (1) year of programmatic experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of programmatic experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory role

PLUS one of the following:

  • One-year early childhood certificate consisting of at least thirty (30) semester hours
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent
  • Certification from a recognized Montessori organization

Management Requirements:

  • Management experience is defined as at least six (6) months in an administrative role involving supervising, orienting, training, and scheduling staff, OR completion of one of the following: one college-level business course, ten (10) clock hours of management training, or one child care management course covering planning, budgeting, staffing, and monitoring

Employment Screening Requirements:

  • Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings required by Virginia state regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
