Job description

SUMMARY: This part time position is responsible for converting the Broadmoor World Arena from one event set-up to another on an as needed basis. This position is very physical and requires long periods of standing, walking and lifting. Employee must be able to work a varied schedule (weekdays, weekends, and holidays); mainly late nights.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following reflects managementโ€™s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. โ€ข Perform event set-ups and facility conversions โ€ข Perform routine maintenance assignments โ€ข Maintain all areas of the arena in safe and clean condition โ€ข Remove and install hockey glass โ€ข Assist in building stages and setting chairs for events โ€ข Install and remove ice deck and/or flooring QUALIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: โ€ข Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body โ€ข Many of the essential functions of this position are characterized by demanding physical work that may require such physical activities as standing, bending, reaching overhead, lifting, pushing, and pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching. โ€ข Endure hours of intense physical work and long hours โ€ข Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. โ€ข Move furniture, materials, and equipment. โ€ข Must be able to understand and follow directions individually and as a team โ€ข Must be able to work safely โ€ข Dependable โ€“ the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, and commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. โ€ข Reliable means of transportation โ€ข WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to frequent stair climbing, walking on ice/wet surfaces, and heights. Long hours during Events โ€ข Must be able to work a flexible and varied work schedule to include days, nights and overnights as necessary, weekends and holidays as well as split days during the event season. โ€ข Regularly exposed to loud noises (Forklift operations, concerts) โ€ข Work effectively under stressful time restraints โ€ข Must also be able to work in a variety of weather conditions ranging from extreme cold to hotter temperatures/indoors and outdoors โ€“some work is done on a slippery surface
