How do part time CEOs typically balance strategic responsibilities with limited working hours?

Part-time CEOs often focus on high-level strategic decision-making, delegating day-to-day operations to a strong management team. They prioritize clear communication, set measurable goals, and leverage regular check-ins to stay aligned with business objectives. Time management and effective delegation are essential to ensure critical initiatives move forward despite a reduced time commitment. This role is especially common in startups or nonprofits where resources are limited but executive leadership is still needed.

What is a part time CEO?

A Part Time CEO is an executive leader who works with an organization on a reduced or flexible schedule, rather than full-time. They are responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy, leadership, and key decisions, but may only dedicate a set number of hours each week or month. Part Time CEOs are often hired by startups, small businesses, or companies in transition that need executive expertise but cannot afford or do not require a full-time CEO. This arrangement allows businesses to access experienced leadership while managing costs. The role may also be referred to as a fractional or interim CEO.

What does a part time CEO do?

Some companies have leaders who work part-time with responsibilities that are similar to those of a full-time executive. As a part-time CEO, your duties include coordinating projects and priorities and providing strategic leadership for diverse teams throughout the organization, including HR, finance, operations, sales, and administration. You collaborate with members of the corporate management team to ensure the organization meets operational and sales goals, and your duties involve chairing company meetings, negotiating contracts and agreements, approving the annual budget, and ensuring fiscal responsibility and ethical behavior. Some part-time CEO roles are temporary or interim, while others are long-term.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time CEO, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time CEO, you need strong strategic leadership, financial acumen, and proven executive experience, often supported by an advanced degree such as an MBA. Familiarity with business management software, financial reporting systems, and board governance tools is typically essential. Outstanding communication, decision-making, and time management skills help a part-time CEO effectively lead and inspire teams while balancing limited hours. These skills and qualities ensure the CEO can drive organizational success, make high-impact decisions, and maintain stakeholder confidence despite a reduced time commitment.

Job description

Type:
Independent Partner / Commission-Based Leadership Role, Part Time

Reports To: Chapter President, Los Angeles

CEO Life is experiencing explosive transformation. With new visionary leadership, cutting-edge infrastructure, and a proven model for connecting high-achieving executives, we're not just growing - we're revolutionizing how leaders build meaningful business relationships.

We're looking for four elite Chapter Directors per location who know how to open doors at the top - CEOs, Founders, and C-suite executives - and close them. This isn't a traditional sales role. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity built for relationship-driven professionals who can engage at the highest levels of business leadership and convert those conversations into recurring wealth.

Working part-time hours while maintaining the flexibility to run existing ventures.

The Opportunity

As a Chapter Director, you'll join an exclusive 5-person Executive Leadership Pod driving growth in your market. Your primary mission: identify, engage, and enroll CEOs, Founders, and C-suite executives into the CEO Life community.

You'll leverage our brand, systems, and national momentum to build a recurring income stream - fueled entirely by your ability to connect with and sell to the decision-makers at the top of every organization.

We're scaling to 50,000 global leaders. The executives who partner with us now aren't just joining a company - they're claiming territory in a movement.

What You'll Build

Your Revenue Streams:

  • Membership enrollment commissions
  • Performance bonuses
  • Event sponsorships

Your Responsibilities:

  • Establishing relationships with CEOs, Founders, and C-suite executives within your industry niche
  • Leverage CEO Life's proven LinkedIn automation and outreach systems to target executive-level decision-makers
  • Enroll 3-5+ new members monthly - every one of them a top-tier executive (top performers average 7+)
  • Host and drive attendance at monthly signature events designed exclusively for executive leaders
  • Collaborate with your Executive Leadership Pod to deliver exceptional peer-level member experiences
  • Build long-term wealth through the recurring commissions generated by the leaders you bring in

Your Ideal Profile

You are:

  • A proven closer with a track record of selling to - not just alongside - CEOs, Founders, and C-suite executives
  • Deeply networked within your industry at the executive level
  • Entrepreneurially minded, motivated by unlimited earning potential
  • Skilled at building authentic peer-level relationships with the most influential leaders in any room
  • Comfortable operating independently while contributing to a high-performance team

You bring:

  • Demonstrated success in executive-level business development, sales, or entrepreneurship
  • The credibility and presence to engage C-suite decision-makers as a peer
  • High emotional intelligence and natural relationship-building ability at the top of the org chart
  • The drive to build a six-figure income by converting executive relationships into membership enrollments
  • A professional presence that commands respect among Founders, CEOs, and senior leaders

Why CEO Life Is Different

Unmatched Support Infrastructure:

  • Comprehensive onboarding and leadership development programs
  • Full access to our CRM and CEO Life platforms
  • National marketing campaigns and brand recognition
  • Proven playbooks from top-performing Chapter Directors who sell at the executive level

True Earning Ownership:

  • Build recurring revenue that compounds as your executive member base grows
  • No earnings cap - your success is limited only by your ambition and your network
  • Clear path to additional leadership roles and equity participation
  • Protected territory within your industry niche

Part of Something Bigger:

  • Join during a pivotal transformation with new executive leadership
  • Access to national conferences and exclusive member events attended by top-tier executives
  • Connect with extraordinary leaders across 35+ chapters nationwide
  • Help build the premier executive community reaching 50,000 global leaders

Ready to Claim Your Territory?

This opportunity won't last. We're selecting only four Directors per chapter - one per specialization. If you have the executive relationships, the sales acumen, and the drive to build something extraordinary, this is your moment.

CEO Life operates through three pillars: Gather (authentic relationships), Grow (leadership development), and Give (community impact). Join us in building the future of executive connection - one CEO, one Founder, one C-suite leader at a time.
