Job description

Monsignor Slade Catholic School, a Pre-K(2)-8th grade Catholic school in Glen Burnie, Maryland, is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant (IA) for the 2026-2027 school year. IA's play a vital role in supporting instruction by working directly with teachers and students in the classroom. Hours are subject to change, but punctual attendance is required Monday through Friday, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The ideal candidate is dependable, student-centered, organized, flexible, and committed to supporting both teachers and students in a faith-filled learning environment. Please note that this position will work 20-24 hours per week.
Essential Functions
  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students as directed by the teacher.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons and activities.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunchtime, and other non-instructional periods.
  • Reinforce positive behavior and classroom expectations.
  • Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and setup as needed.

Position Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude when working with students.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.

Pay Rate: $17.00, Hourly
