The City of Grapevine Parks and Rec is on the lookout for some awesome folks to join our Aquatics team and make waves at the pool!
Are you ready to dive into a job that's not just about preventing cannonball chaos but also about turning each pool day into a splash-tastic experience? If you've got a passion for swimming and keeping the vibes high, you might just be our next Aquatics superstar!
Essential Functions
As an Assistant Pool Manager you'll help out in making sure everything's running smoothly at the pool! You'll be part of the crew overseeing maintenance, cool water programs, and special events. Plus, you'll team up with the Pool Manager and Aquatic Coordinator to come up with plans to crush our division goals together. Join us and let's turn up the fun at the pool together!
  1. Ensures the personal safety of the facility users by enforcing all rules and regulations.
  2. Assists in maintaining the aquatic facility and surrounding area.
  3. Responsible for collection of fees, preparation of bank deposits and departmental records and reports.
  4. Monitors and records checklists and water chemistry, notifies supervisor of chemical inventory and equipment supplies.
  5. Assists with regular in-service training, evaluates and gives instructions to lifeguards to improve techniques and perform skill audits.
  6. Supervises and gives direction to the lifeguarding staff to accomplish daily goals and objectives.
  7. Monitors admissions and concessions areas throughout the shift.
  8. Determines and enforces safety measures in and around the pool.
  9. Supervises the activities of subordinates and give direction to them to accomplish departmental objectives.
  10. Covers various management shifts at the city's aquatic facilities.
  11. Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
  12. Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
  13. Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.

Required Skills
  • Minimum age 17
  • Preferably one summer season as a Lifeguard or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in an aquatic setting is a bonus
  • Lifeguard Instructor certification is a plus
  • Must get the initial American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification before the hire date
    • All certification trainings are offered through the City of Grapevine
    • Recertification can be obtained after being hired
    • Certifications must be maintained during employment
  • Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and hold a valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

*For those hired before the outdoor pool season opens, attending, obtaining, and maintaining a Food Manager certificate is required
*For those hired at Dove Waterpark after it opens, obtaining and maintaining a Food Manager certificate is a must
