THE ROLE & SCHEDULE

We are looking for a camp coach with an athletic or coaching background who ideally has experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 9

KidStrong Camp Coach would focus on coaching children on brain, physical, and character development that stems from a designed camp curriculum

Ideal candidate must also be comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents that take place during camp

Camps typically run when school is out, from 9 am - 2:30 pm *may vary depending on locations - the ideal candidate will be available during those hours

Additional opportunity to increase scheduled hours through private party coaching hours & KidStrong Class coaching - may require additional training

COACH RESPONSIBILITIES

Camp sizes of up to 20 children, ages ranging from 4 - 9

Teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team

Must be able to ensure camp both start and ends on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum

Greet students as well as parent(s)/guardian(s) as they arrive to camp

Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading camp

Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises

Keep an accurate record of attendance at all times

Ensure cleanliness of the center including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - this includes taking out the trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift

Effectively use the KS Coach's App to record class data and provide records of data for parents (attendance, awards, etc.)

Communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack, our company messaging system, including periodic checks of messages when not in centers

Complete training through LearnUpon as required by the HQ Training and Certification team

Must be able to work in a physically intensive environment - coaches may cover multiple miles in a shift moving through camp, lift and repeatedly moving equipment up to 25 pounds in weight.

Must be comfortable working "hands-on" with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.

Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director

Must obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team

Supervision, safety, and program implementation for campers while ensuring the well-being of all children

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Passion for working with children is non-negotiable!

Prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred

Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred

CPR certified

Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills

Self-starter who just gets a job done
