LSE Camp Counselor II - Track Out Camp
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
WORK LOCATION: John M. Brown Community Center, 53 Hunter St., Apex NC 27502
SCHEDULE: Varies Monday - Friday 7:15am - 6pm

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Camp Counselors make time awayfrom school fun! As a Track Out Camp counselor, you will lead and activelyparticipate in active/passive games, arts and crafts, food experiences, outdooractivities, science experiments and more. Camp Counselors are expected to berole models and provide meaningful experiences for their campers.
This positionis supervised by the Camp Directors and full-time Recreation Program Specialist. This position is part-time and does not qualify forbenefits.
A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS:
  • Actively leads participants in active/passive games, arts and crafts, food experiences, outdoor activities, science experiments, and others scheduled by Camp Directors.
  • Effectively communicates at all times with Camp Directors.
  • Monitor campers, with support of full-time staff, who have medical/inclusion accommodations.
  • Administers first aid.
  • Documents injuries and behavior incidents alongside Camp Directors.
  • Identifies unsafe situations and work hazards, corrects them if possible and reports them to their supervisor.
  • Implements camp rules and maintains behavior management policies in a positive manner.
  • Maintain clean work and play areas.
  • Carries out job duties in a safe manner in accordance with all Town policies; follows safety procedures.
  • Driving a mini bus for field trips. (No CDL required)
  • Other related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Must be 16 years or older at the time of employment.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Experience working with children ages 6-11.
Have a passion for leadership, creativity, camper engagement and fun!
