CAMP EAGLE PRIDE SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Camp Eagle Pride Counselor is a Christian role model demonstrating Christ’s love while helping campers realize and pursue their full potential – spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially. The CEP Counselor exemplifies the school’s mission and vision to all stakeholders.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, attentive Camp Counselors to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all that the camp has to offer. The CEP Counselor should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun, safe camp experience. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Camp Counselor. To succeed as a CEP Counselor, you should be upbeat, decisive, and responsible. You should also be organized and possess strong leadership skills.
Expectations:
  • Camp hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00am - 6:00pm; hours worked will vary depending on full-time and part-time staffing.
  • Follow guidelines for child care licensing and instructed by the Summer Camp Director.
  • Ensure the safety of all campers at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants in a fun environment.
  • Supervise young campers at all times.
  • Plan and lead recreational and educational games and age-appropriate activities.
  • Educate campers through games and explorations.
  • Work with other camp staff members to plan and coordinate camp events.
  • Monitor campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents.
  • Make sure all safety rules are followed.
  • Report and record details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations, to parents and camp staff.
  • Clean, maintain and ensure proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
  • Memorize all emergency procedures and enforce camp rules.
  • Set up and maintain equipment.
  • Address behavioral issues.
  • Keep accurate incident logs.
Requirements:
  • At least 18 years old with a High School Diploma
  • A love for children
  • Experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children is preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Patient and reliable
  • Energetic and positive personality
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities)
  • First aid and CPR-certified is beneficial
  • Ability to pass drug and background tests
