What are part-time call center jobs?

Part-time call center jobs involve working in a customer service or support role for fewer hours than a full-time position, typically ranging from 15 to 30 hours per week. Job description

About the Role:
Part-Time Client Care & Appointment Specialist
Location: Lake Worth, FL (In Office), and some time in Fort Lauderdale
Schedule: Part-Time (20–30 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends)
Pay: Competitive hourly wage + performance bonuses based on appointments booked and sales closed.
About Us
Gentle Pet Crossing is South Florida's premier aquamation and pet aftercare provider, serving families from Palm Bay to Miami. We provide compassionate in-home euthanasia, aquamation, and memorial services, helping families through one of life's most difficult moments with professionalism, kindness, and exceptional service.
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys talking with people, can build trust quickly, and is comfortable helping families make decisions over the phone.
About the Role
This is not a traditional customer service position.
Your primary responsibility is to answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, guide families through their options, and confidently schedule appointments. Every phone call is an opportunity to provide outstanding service while helping families choose the care that's right for their pet.
This position also involves working directly with families who have recently lost a beloved pet. You will be expected to meet grieving families with their deceased pets, either at one of our sanctuaries or in their homes, and at times you may also be responsible for respectfully transporting deceased pets from homes or veterinary clinics back to our sanctuary.
This is a very meaningful position that requires compassion, professionalism, emotional maturity, and the ability to remain calm and supportive during difficult moments. We provide training, but it's important that you feel comfortable with these responsibilities.
This position is currently [part-time/as-needed], but it has the potential to grow into a full-time position for the right person as our business continues to grow.

You will be measured by your ability to:
  • Answer inbound calls professionally and compassionately.
  • Convert inquiries into booked appointments.
  • Schedule aquamation, euthanasia, pickups, and memorial services.
  • Follow up promptly with leads through phone, text, and email.
  • Build rapport while confidently guiding clients toward a decision.
  • Maintain detailed notes and appointment information.
  • Coordinate with doctors and team members to ensure a smooth client experience.
What You'll Do
  • Answer incoming calls from prospective clients.
  • Respond to website inquiries and text messages.
  • Explain our services, pricing, and process.
  • Handle objections with confidence and empathy.
  • Schedule appointments and collect required information.
  • Follow up with every lead until they make a decision.
  • Process invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate schedules with veterinarians and field team members.
  • Help increase appointment conversion rates and revenue.
We're Looking For Someone Who
  • Loves talking to people.
  • Is naturally empathetic while remaining confident.
  • Can stay calm under pressure.
  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Learns quickly and follows established processes.
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is comfortable using computers, email, texting, and scheduling software.
  • Can multitask while maintaining professionalism.
Preferred Experience
  • 1 year of phone sales experience
  • Sales or inside sales.
  • Appointment setting.
  • Customer service.
  • Veterinary, medical, funeral, or healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
  • Call center experience is beneficial.
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly pay.
  • Performance bonuses based on appointments booked and conversion results.
  • Paid training.
  • Opportunities for additional hours and advancement as the company continues to grow.
What Success Looks Like
Successful team members consistently:
  • Answer every call professionally.
  • Build trust within the first few minutes.
  • Convert inquiries into appointments.
  • Follow up on every lead.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience that generates referrals and five-star reviews.
If you're compassionate, organized, and enjoy helping people while achieving measurable results, we'd love to hear from you.
