Department Summary
The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is located in the prestigious Cultural District of Fort Worth, TX. Our mission is to offer exceptional educational activities and to advance research in the anatomical sciences and allied fields.
Research strengths in the Center for Anatomical Sciences include biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, forensic sciences, biomechanics/functional morphology, and histology. The Center encompasses 8,000-square-feet of anatomy laboratories that support anatomical education, research, and outreach. The Center also houses dedicated research laboratories equipped for medical imaging analysis/morphometrics, forensic anthropology, thermoregulatory studies (environmental chamber), histology, and paleontological fossil preparation.
Center for Anatomical Sciences teaches dissection and prosection-based anatomy courses to Medical, Physical Therapy, Physician's Assistant, and Master of Medical Science students. The Center is also home to the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences (STARS) PhD program that prepares graduate students to join the workforce as researchers and anatomy educators.
The Center also supports numerous K-12 science outreach programs, offering summer science camps, campus tours, and in-school events that introduce students to anatomy and its relationship to medical education.
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Cadaver Lab Technician to support anatomy/cadaver lab sessions by recording cadaver dissection demonstrations and editing footage into clear instructional videos. This role requires professionalism, strong organization, and strict adherence to lab safety and confidentiality policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to follow all cadaver lab safety protocols and faculty instructions.
  • Knowledge of working in a cadaver lab setting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respectful handling of all lab materials.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Art Technologies
  • Experience recording video (camera/phone) and basic editing.(CapCut/iMovie/Premiere/DaVinci/Final Cut).
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and highly organized with file management/cloud workflows.
  • Professional in a cadaver lab setting; able to lift/carry equipment and stand for long periods.

Job Duties
  • Pre session setup: set up camera/tripod/lighting/mics; confirm framing, audio, battery + storage.
  • During lab: record steady, clear video/audio; monitor levels; follow faculty direction on key steps/structures/cautions.
  • Post production: trim/assemble segments; sync/clean audio; add basic titles/labels (and captions if requested); export in required format.
  • File management: keep organized naming/folders; upload by deadlines; maintain backups.

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
