Student Employee - Business Program TA

Position Summary:

Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.

Hours: 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit.

Specific Summary of Duties:

  • Limited grading for BUS/ENTR/HR classes

  • Set student appointments for Program Chair and full-time program faculty

  • Prepare materials for classroom activities as needed

  • Assist in management of Business Club responsibilities

  • Review attendance and grading for all BUS/BAP/ENTR/HR classes

  • Review/correct Canvas due dates

  • Review program syllabi and add instructor info to each syllabus

  • Assist program chair and faculty with other items as needed

  • Keep the office area neat and tidy

Job Qualification:

  • Ability to produce effective written correspondence through email and other written communication.

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively, listen and respond appropriately.

  • Highly self-motivated, hard worker, creative, and has a great attention to detail.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor, team members, faculty, and staff.

  • Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.

  • Proficient in Office 365 and Canvas.

All student employees accept as conditions of employment that they will:

  • Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits (3 per block) and in good academic standing.

  • Refrain from behavior or expression that seriously and adversely affects the college mission or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • Act in accordance with the Church Educational System Honor Code and the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations.

  • Comply with all college policies and procedures.

  • Commit to bring about the purposes of Ensign College.
