Our membership base consists of ComEd/Exelon, Constellation, Northwestern Medicine, and Northwestern University employees and students, as well as a 14-county community charter including Evanston and Rockford.


We are currently seeking a Branch Financial Sales & Service Manager for our Evanston Branch. In analyzing members' financial needs, a qualified candidate must lead and motivate the branch sales and service staff with their proven skills in leadership, sales, business development, and lending. A qualified candidate must be able to achieve the assigned sales goals for the branch and department.


A qualified candidate should also have both sales and management experience. Bachelor's degree as well as solid computer, analytical, math, and communication skills are required. Credit union or banking experience is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

First Northern has been Northwestern University's credit union (employee benefit) since 1935. The Evanston Branch is located in the heart of downtown Evanston near Northwestern University's campus. The branch consists of 5.5 FTE employees: Branch Manager, two Personal Bankers, Senior Teller, Teller, and Part-time Teller.


Branch Managers and their team receive a variety of consumer/personal deposit (savings, checking, money market, CD, etc.) and loan (vehicle, credit card, signature, home equity, etc.) applications from various channels (in-person, telephone, online, mail, business development, etc.) and are responsible for most of the steps from start to finish. There is currently heavy emphasis on new memberships and loans. Special attention should be given to the new membership follow-up process (usually for first 60 days), Pending Lending Application Report follow-ups, Completed Lending Applications, Cross-sale Ticket follow-ups, and outbound calling. There are sales goals and incentives for household and product penetration by cross-selling additional business that is not customer/member initiated or the result of a marketing campaign/promotion.


In addition, Branch Managers are responsible for organizing and participating in community and Select Employee Group events and lead these efforts in coordination with the Business Development and Marketing Departments. This can include outside activities to promote First Northern products and services, working with local businesses, organizations and community leaders to strengthen and enhance the relationships between them and First Northern.
