Job description

The Fuller Center is seeking a Part-Time Bus Driver. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of children and staff, while supporting the safety, security, cleanliness, and functionality of the campuses through routine, preventative, and general maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
  • Execute timely arrival at assigned schools and safely transport children and staff.
  • Obey all rules of the road and adhere to safe driving protocols.
  • Report any mechanical issues, routine service needs, or fuel requests promptly.
  • Perform monthly preventative and safety maintenance tasks, document necessary repairs and services, and perform ongoing maintenance as directed.
  • Ensure the overall safety, security, cleanliness, and functionality of campus facilities.
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively in both nonverbal and verbal styles with all children, co-workers, and guests.
  • Legibly, accurately, and thoroughly complete all required operational and maintenance documentation.
  • Provide physical assistance for all children, including children with special needs, and lift up to 25 pounds as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger or School Bus endorsement.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience driving a school bus.
  • Insurable driving record with no at-fault accidents in the last 5 years.
  • Valid personal auto-insurance policy.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals or technical procedures written in English, and effectively communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and provide physical assistance for all children, including children with special needs. (Reasonable accommodation may be made for otherwise qualified persons with disabilities.)
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills across diverse groups of children, staff, and visitors.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills in completing maintenance documentation and safety logs accurately.
