Hours: Casual Part-Time 0.20 FTE (8 hours/week)
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with variable days. 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Description:
The Genetics Counselor provides counseling, information, education and support to families regarding familial conditions, genetic disorders, birth defects and developmental disabilities. In collaboration with providers, identifies needs for genetic testing, interprets and reports the results out to aid in medical management. Also provides information, consultation and education to other service providers regarding genetic disorders and genetic testing. The Genetic Counselor role will have a primary emphasis on cardiac genetic testing.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited Genetic Counseling Training Program required.
  • 2 years' experience with general provision of comprehensive genetics services, specifically: delivery of cardiac diagnosis services, cardiac genetics evaluation, coordination of genetic testing, familiarity with adult-onset genetic conditions and cardiac-related genetic counseling preferred.
