Job description

Position Summary
The Part-time Ground Support Agent is responsible for delivering exceptional 5-star customer service to passengers, crew, and visitors at the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) in Teterboro, NJ. This role serves as a key point of contact, providing a warm welcome and professional assistance both inside the FBO and on the ramp. Responsibilities include escorting customers, assisting with luggage, coordinating service requests, and supporting internal departments to ensure a seamless and elevated customer experience.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree in Hospitality or a related field, or 2-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the aviation industry or a related field, such as hospitality, is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to remain calm and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity when working in diverse environments.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Strong personal values aligned with Jet Aviation's core values of Trust, Honesty, Alignment, and Transparency.
  • Ability to obtain an airport ID badge within 30 days of employment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Welcome and assist passengers and crew arriving at and departing from the FBO, while coordinating customer requests and supporting internal teams.
  • Follow all applicable procedures, policies, and safety requirements.
  • Provide professional, attentive service throughout the FBO, ramp, and street-side areas.
  • Deliver proactive concierge-style support during customer arrivals and departures.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Jet Aviation's services and related offerings.
  • Stay informed about local and regional hotels, dining, transportation, entertainment, and events to support customer needs.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Schedule and Compensation
Aviation is a dynamic, fast-paced industry where operational needs can change quickly. Success in this role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to support a 24/7 operation based on the needs of the business, customers, and flight crews.
For this part-time position, the scheduled hours are:
  • Sunday and Monday: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Training for this role is expected to last approximately 4-6 weeks. During the training period, hours may differ from the assigned shift listed based on operational and training needs. Once initial training is successfully completed, you will transition to the assigned shift.

This is an on-site role based in Teterboro, NJ. The posted salary ranges default to the regional market and do not include any applicable premiums. The hourly rate for this non-exempt position is $22.00, which is equivalent to approximately $45,000 annually.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including overhead. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position requires the ability to work in both upscale customer-facing areas and active operational environments. The employee may be exposed to moderate to loud noise levels, particularly during aircraft arrivals and departures. The role also involves frequent exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes.
Employees must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. Hangar and ramp environments may involve exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the season.
