Seasonal Groundskeeper
Love working with your hands and spending your summer under the Utah sun? The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is looking for a dedicated, hardworking individual to keep our Region One Headquarters looking its best. If you take pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces and enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done, we want to hear from you!

About the Role
As our Seasonal Groundskeeper II, you aren't just "mowing lawns"-you are the curator of our professional environment. Your work ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere for employees and the public alike.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Landscape Artistry: Mow, rake, water, and fertilize lawns; plant and trim flowers and shrubs to keep the grounds vibrant.
  • Precision Maintenance: Manage weed control and assist with the upkeep of complex irrigation and sprinkler systems.
  • Equipment Mastery: Operate a variety of hand tools, electrical equipment, and automotive machinery.
  • All-Season Readiness: Maintain parking areas and walkways, including snow and ice removal during late-season transitions.
  • Technical Support: Perform preventative maintenance on lawnmowers, snow blowers, and small engines to keep the fleet running smoothly.
  • Specialty Care: Under expert supervision, help apply fertilizers and treatments to keep the vegetation healthy.

  • A Valid Driver's License: Essential for operating equipment and moving across the site.
  • Hands-on Experience: A background in professional landscaping, grounds care, or irrigation.
  • Technical Comfort: Experience working with pesticides, herbicides, or specialized lawn chemicals.
