Job Description: Cook/Kitchen Help

Department: Dietary

Reports to: Administrator & Kitchen Manager

Description of Position:

The Cook/Kitchen will be in charge of following the weekly menus, preparing recipes and meals for 50+ residents. These include some special diets (Gluten-Free, Low-Carb, etc.)

This position can also help serve, do dishes and set dining room.

Prior experience cooking for large groups is preferred but we will train.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Breakfast, Lunch, and or dinner for all Residents
  • Refer to Dietary Tracking for Residents likes and dislikes, as well as allergies and to ensure Resident Safety.
  • Ensure all food and refrigerator temps are logged as required
  • Report all resident dietary issues to the nurse, if any swallowing difficulty is noted notify nurse immediately
  • Keep kitchen clean and sanitary at all times
  • Provide a positive dining experience
  • Ensure kitchen in cleaned, stocked, and disinfected per infection control and ServeSafe Guidelines
  • Communicate low levels of supplies to Kitchen Manager
  • Receive and put away orders/supplies
  • Prepare special snacks, birthday cakes, etc
  • This list is not an all inclusive as other job duties may be added as needed

Experience:

  • Cooking for large groups: 1 year preferred

License:

  • ServSafe Certification preferred but not mandatory

Job Type: Part-time

Hours vary 7am-3pm or 2:30-7 pm
