Job description

Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach
Midway University Athletics Department
Midway University is actively seeking a part-time Assistant Coach to join our Men's volleyball program. Working closely with the Head Coach, the successful candidate(s) will play a pivotal role in recruiting talented student-athletes, providing skill instruction, offering academic support, and ensuring compliance.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Adhere to University and NAIA policies and procedures.
  • Provide help administering the volleyball program, including recruiting, budgeting, travel and tournament preparations.
  • Assist the Head Coach and administration to ensure that all team members have completed all the required eligibility forms prior to participating.
  • Coordinate and evaluate as-needed coaching/training sessions, ensuring that effective principles, techniques, strategies, and methods to achieve sport proficiency is happening; observe student-athletes during practice to determine opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain confidentiality with office and team related issues.
  • Assist in driving vans to and from tournaments.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior coaching experience at high school or collegiate level is highly desirable. The ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes is preferred. This position will require a background and driving record check. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
