About the Role:

The part-time Program Coordinator for Youth Services is one of two part-time coordinators assigned to the Youth Development Center extended learning programs as their assigned project and is responsible for coordinating and implementing the day-to-day operations of those programs. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality youth programming that supports students' academic achievement, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. The Program Coordinator provides direct services to students, maintains ongoing communication with parents and school personnel, and assists in developing and implementing educational and enrichment activities. Working collaboratively with program staff and community partners, the Program Coordinator helps ensure that program services are accessible, effective, and aligned with organizational goals, grant requirements, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field. Associate degree will be consider with related experience.
  • Experience providing direct services to children and youth in educational, recreational, or community-based settings.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field such as Social Work, Public Administration, or Education.
  • Knowledge of community resources and social service networks.
  • Certification in youth development or related professional training.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee daily program operations. 
  • Ensure program activities are implemented according to established schedules, policies, and grant requirements.
  • Monitor student attendance, participation, and engagement. 
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. 
  • Support recruitment, enrollment, and retention of program participants.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student participation, attendance, and program activities. 
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff to address student needs and support academic success. 
  • Assist with family engagement events and activities.
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement curriculum, enrichment activities, lesson plans, and educational materials.
  • Assist in planning special events, workshops, field trips, and community service projects.
  • Ensure activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with program objectives.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and participant documentation.
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, professional development sessions, and in-service workshops.

It is a part-time position requiring 20-25 hours per week.

This is a grant-funded position. The position is contingent on grant funding. 

Skills:

  • Experience working in an after-school or out-of-school time program. 
  • Knowledge of positive youth development and social-emotional learning practices. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to supervise and engage students in classroom, recreational, and outdoor activities.
