Job description

Position Summary:
Starting Salary: $24.00 an hour.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Health Sciences and the Associate Dean of EMS, the candidate delivers theory and/or skills training to one or more levels of EMS students in a laboratory and/or hospital setting.
Job Duties:
• Performs direct teaching and demonstration of EMS skills and facilitates hands-on learning, in a laboratory setting as appropriate to the position.
• Evaluates and provides feedback to students, as appropriate, using student interaction and demonstration.
• Instructs students on the most current DOT curriculum as approved by the Florida Bureau of EMS and under the direction of the Associate Dean of EMS as appropriate including: patient assessment and treatment of a variety of medical and trauma emergencies and in the use and care of a broad range of emergency patient care equipment.
• Ensures adherence to established College, Departmental and Program policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Florida certified paramedic in good standing, AS Degree or higher in EMS or related field, completion of Level A - EMS Instructor Course Curriculum as defined in 64J-1.0201, *** Level A training must be completed prior to processing and start date and currently employed by an ALS provider with a minimum of 3 years ALS level, patient care experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
AHA BLS Instructor certification, AHA ACLS & PALS Instructor certification, must obtain within six months of hire, knowledge of EMT/ Paramedic theory and practice, knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a range of emergency medical equipment, the ability to practice at a level appropriate to the level of instruction being provided, the ability to assess student performance and to provide appropriate feedback and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
