Job description

Must have previous aircraft loadmaster experience with minimum of 2,500 flying hours in heavy cargo airplanes; ability to demonstrate working knowledge of inspecting and documenting hazardous materials for air shipment, provide certification as well as proven expertise in weight and balance, ability to work effectively in an unsupervised environment, be able to lift 70 pounds, be able to travel on company airplanes, have ability to withstand outdoor/adverse working conditions (i.e. noise/ fumes/ extreme temperatures, etc.), be able to work within a team concept, have high personal and professional standards of performance and conduct, and be able to perform extensive, worldwide travel on a random basis.

Prefer previous heavy cargo loading experience, bilingual skills (Spanish, Portuguese, etc.).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performing Loadmaster duties
• Ensuring the safe and secure handling of cargo and aircraft operations worldwide
• Overseeing air cargo build-up, restraint, loading, dangerous goods handling, aircraft weight & balance calculation, and aircraft ground handling
• Perform onboard flight responsibilities, flying on company aircraft in support of worldwide cargo charter contracts
• Conducting audits to support SMS Safety Assurance and Risk Management efforts
• Deliver classroom and on-the-job training for ground operations and aircraft handling operations
• Administer and schedule the Professional Loadmaster (PLM) program
• Communicate and coordinate with airline management, regulatory agents, inspectors, customer staff, and Professional Loadmaster staff on technical, safety, security, and regulatory matters
• Perform additional duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Five (5) years of experience in aviation cargo operations
• Current FAA (14 CFR) Aircraft Weight & Balance (Loadplanner/Loadmaster) Certification, or ability to recertify upon employment
• Current FAA (49 CFR) Dangerous Goods Inspector Certification, or ability to recertify upon employment
• Ability to obtain and maintain TSA Security Threat Assessment and/or airport SIDA credential
• Knowledge of aircraft weight & balance calculation methods and tools
• Knowledge of FAR/ICAO/IATA regulations governing carriage of cargo, acceptance of dangerous goods for air transport, aircraft loading, aircraft ground handling, and cargo and aircraft safety measures
• Knowledge of cargo and aircraft security regulations and measures
• Valid driver's license
• Valid US passport
• Ability to travel up to 40% of time


PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
• Previous experience conducting audits, evaluations, or other safety assurance measures
• Previous experience as instructor or trainer
• Knowledge or experience with IOSA audits
• Knowledge or experience with ICAO or FAA Safety Management Systems rules and processes
