Part-Time Lifeguard - Afternoon Shift

Location: Clear Lake, IA
Schedule: Afternoon Shift | 12:00 PM-5:00 PM | Part-Time

At One Vision, our Wellness Center is more than a pool-it's a place where community members, Glen Oaks residents, and individuals receiving services come together to stay active, build connections, and enjoy recreational opportunities.

We're looking for a dependable and motivated Afternoon Lifeguard to help keep our Wellness Center safe, welcoming, and ready for everyone who comes through our doors.

With a consistent midday schedule, this position can be a great fit for someone looking for meaningful part-time hours while keeping mornings and evenings available.

What You'll Do

As a Lifeguard, you'll help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who visits the Wellness Center. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring pool and spa areas to maintain a safe environment
  • Performing routine water testing and documenting results
  • Maintaining cleanliness throughout the pool, locker rooms, and common areas
  • Building positive relationships with members, guests, and visitors
  • Assisting with swim lessons, birthday parties, programs, and special events as scheduled
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies and safety concerns
  • Supporting daily Wellness Center operations as needed

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Strong swimming abilities, including:
    • Swimming 300 yards using freestyle and breaststroke
    • Treading water for 2 minutes without using hands
    • Retrieving a 10-pound object from 7-10 feet of water and returning it within required time standards
  • Willingness to complete Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid training
  • Previous experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
  • Must pass required background checks and screenings

No lifeguard certification? No problem. We'll provide the training and certification you need at no cost to you.
