Job description

After-School Teacher

Are you passionate about creating a positive and nurturing environment for children? Do you love fostering curiosity and encouraging open-ended thinking? The JCC is looking for a dedicated Monday - Friday part-time After-School Teacher from the hours of 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM (start date - August 18th) to join our team and help us provide an engaging and supportive experience for elementary-aged children!

In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping a warm and respectful atmosphere where every child feels valued. You'll have the opportunity to implement creative programs and activities that align with our mission to promote inquiry and positive development.


What You'll Do:

  • Supervise and engage a group of 5-16 children (grades K4-5th grade) during after-school hours (2:30 PM - 6:00 PM).
  • Develop and lead dynamic classroom activities and programs that actively involve children.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our program by upholding high standards and adhering to JCC policies and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in childcare is required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification for infants, children, and adults is preferred.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

This is an active role requiring you to be on your feet, bending, kneeling, stooping, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. You'll be working in a dynamic professional environment, engaging directly with children and staff.
