BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Ethnic Studies courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of Ethnic Studies classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance
  • learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired

REQUIRED DUTIES:
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications at least one of the disciplines below. Please review the Minimum Qualifications Handbook to view the required qualifications to teach a specific discipline.
  • African American Studies: Master's degree in African-American/Black/Africana
    Studies OR Bachelor's degree in African-American/Black/Africana Studies AND Master's degree in Ethnic Studies
  • Asian American Studies: Master's degree in Asian American Studies OR Master's degree in Ethnic Studies AND Bachelor's degree in Asian American Studies
  • Chicano Studies: Master's degree in Chicano Studies OR Ethnic Studies
  • Ethnic Studies: Master's in African American Studies, Black Studies, Africana Studies, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Chicana/o Studies, Asian American Studies, Native, American Studies, or American Indian Studies OR Master's in Ethnic Studies
  • Native American/American Indian Studies: Master's degree in Native American/American Indian Studies, OR Master's degree in Ethnic Studies AND Bachelor's degree in Native American /American Indian Studies
  • OR The equivalent

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.
