Job description

Part-Time Garnishment Administrator
Position Summary The Part-Time Garnishments Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of multi-state wage garnishments and other court- or agency-ordered deductions. This on-site position focuses on legal compliance, garnishment calculations, system setup, and required correspondence.
This role does not process core payroll. Instead, the Garnishments Administrator works closely with the payroll team to ensure child support orders, creditor garnishments, tax levies, and other involuntary deductions are accurately established, maintained, and processed in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Pay Structure 

  • $16.50-$17.50 per hour, DOE 


Key Responsibilities

  • Garnishment Administration: Review, enter, and maintain multi-state garnishment orders.
  • Withholding Calculations: Calculate deductions under federal and state limits and priority rules.
  • Order Setup & Maintenance: Set up orders and update changes, balances, releases, and terminations.
  • Court & Agency Correspondence: Complete required responses by legal deadlines.
  • Multi-State Compliance: Apply federal and state garnishment rules and response requirements.
  • Records Management: Maintain accurate, confidential garnishment records.
  • Reconciliation & Research: Research discrepancies and validate balances, deductions, and setup.
  • Audit Support: Provide records for reviews, audits, and compliance inquiries.
  • Payroll Manager Support: Assist with projects, clean-up, system maintenance, reporting, and admin tasks.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is an essential function of this position.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: 1–3 years handling multi-state garnishments or legal payroll data entry.
  • Jurisdictional Knowledge: Familiarity with state income limits and priority rules.
  • Reliability: Able to meet an established on-site schedule and legal deadlines.
  • Data Accuracy: Strong math skills and attention to detail for accurate entry.
