What is a part time admin?

Part time admin jobs involve performing administrative and clerical tasks for an organization on a part-time basis, often working less than 35 hours per week. Typical duties include answering phones, managing emails, scheduling appointments, filing documents, and supporting other staff with various office tasks. These roles are common in a wide range of industries and can offer flexible hours, making them suitable for students, parents, or anyone needing a non-full-time schedule.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time admin?

To thrive as a Part Time Admin, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and basic proficiency in office administration supported by at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms, and sometimes scheduling or database systems is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability are standout soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure efficient office operations, accurate record-keeping, and effective support to teams in diverse, fast-paced environments.

Part Time Admin roles often offer flexible scheduling, with hours typically ranging from 15 to 30 hours per week depending on the employer. You may work independently or as part of a small administrative team, and you'll likely interact regularly with staff from other departments. Seasonal Office Administrator (Part-Time)

The Little Milk Bar

West Jordan, UT โ€ข On-site

$20/hr

Part-time

Job description

About Us
The Little Milk Bar makes nursing and postpartum apparel, and we don't tiptoe around what that means. We shoot photos and videos with real breastfeeding moms in our space on a regular basis. We talk about boobs, latch, leaking, and postpartum bodies out loud in the office, every day, without flinching or apologizing - it's the actual product. If that would make you uncomfortable, this isn't the right fit, and that's okay.
What we are: a small team that is fiercely on the side of moms. We're scrappy, we move fast, and everyone here wears a lot of hats - job descriptions are a starting point, not a boundary. The person who thrives here is the one who sees something that needs doing and does it, who volunteers for the thing they've never tried before, and who doesn't need a perfect process to get started. If you want a quiet, predictable role with clear lanes, you'll be miserable. If you want to build something with a team that genuinely cares, come work with us.
The Role
We're hiring a part-time Office Administrator to keep our West Jordan office running through our busiest stretch of the year. You'll report directly to our CEO and our Operations Manager, and you'll touch a little bit of everything - PR boxes headed out to influencers, customer emails, event setup, and the daily work of keeping an office in order.
This role is seasonal through the end of the year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right person. We're looking to fill it as soon as possible.
What You'll Do
  • Assemble and pack PR and influencer boxes
  • Respond to customer service emails with warmth and care
  • Handle daily office organization and general admin tasks
  • Pick up packages and product from our warehouse
  • Help set up, staff, and break down in-person events

You'll Love It Here If
  • You're comfortable in a workspace centered entirely on breastfeeding and postpartum bodies
  • You'd rather figure it out than wait to be told
  • Variety energizes you instead of stressing you out
  • You want moms to feel supported and taken seriously

This Isn't For You If
  • You need a fixed, narrow set of responsibilities
  • You prefer a slow, highly structured environment
  • Frank conversation about bodies isn't something you want at work

Requirements
  • Reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license (you'll be making warehouse runs - mileage reimbursed)
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, kind written communication
  • Comfortable working independently and self-starting
  • Prior admin or customer service experience is a plus, but not required - attitude matters more

Schedule
  • 15 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Hours scheduled between 9:00am-4:00pm
  • On-site in West Jordan, UT - this is not a remote or hybrid position
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability for events, roughly once a month

Compensation & Perks
  • $20/hour, W2 part-time employee
  • Mileage reimbursement for warehouse runs
  • 30% employee discount
  • Seasonal through December, with potential to extend
  • Start date: ASAP
