About the Role:
As a Respiratory Therapist RRT working part-time day shifts, you will play a critical role in providing specialized respiratory care to patients across various healthcare settings during overnight hours. Your primary objective will be to assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, ensuring optimal lung function and oxygenation. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans. This role demands vigilance and quick decision-making to respond effectively to emergencies and changes in patient status during the night. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute significantly to improving patient outcomes and supporting the overall healthcare team during critical overnight periods.
Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to patient needs during night shifts.
  • Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen delivery, mechanical ventilation, and airway management.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary, documenting all care provided accurately and timely.
  • Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies, providing life-saving interventions and collaborating with the medical team.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure safety and functionality throughout the shift.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • State licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications PALS.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a clinical respiratory therapy role, preferably in acute care settings.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working night shifts or in a 24-hour hospital environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and respiratory care documentation software.
  • Strong background in mechanical ventilation management and pulmonary function testing.
  • Previous involvement in respiratory therapy quality improvement or patient education programs.
