A&E Real Estate was founded in 2011 to invest in multifamily properties in the New York City Metropolitan area with a focus on workforce housing. A&E acquires, operates, improves and manages the properties, and currently owns approximately 12,000 apartments in New York City.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks related to the firm’s accounts payable work.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, printing and mailing checks, processing desktop scanner deposits, going to post office /Fedex drop off location if needed.
  • Accurately prepares deposit slips for deposits to be processed through the desktop scanners.
  • The position is 3 days a week in office.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, including debits and credits, accounts payable, and general ledger coding.
  • Experience with accounts payable processes, including printing checks, matching invoices, verifying approvals, and processing voids or stop payments.
  • Familiarity with property management software, preferably Yardi.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software is considered a strong transferable skill.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required for this part-time position.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Fundamental understanding of accounting principles through coursework or practical experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
