Part-Time Accounting Specialist
Location: Naperville, IL
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week (Flexible)

About the Opportunity
Our client, a family-owned business with an eight-person office, is seeking a Part-Time Accounting Specialist to support their Accountant with day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, small-business environment and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Support monthly close activities and reconciliations
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Participate in the weekly Bank/Borrowing Base Certificate (BBC) reporting process, including AP, AR, and inventory data
  • Support accounting recordkeeping and general financial operations
  • Assist the Accountant and business owner with ad hoc accounting projects
Required:
  • 2+ years of experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and journal entries
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of month-end close processes
  • Ability to work independently in a small-office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred:
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Small business or family-owned company experience
  • Experience preparing or assisting with borrowing base or cash reporting
