About the Company

PierceCo Properties is a small family-owned and operated Real Estate and Property Management company. The Pierce Family have been operating since 1929 and is committed to serving Marin County by offering quality rental housing and commercial operating space. Our team is focused on providing attentive, hands-on property management with prompt resolution of tenant concerns.

Position Summary

We are seeking an independent contractor to act as a bookkeeper. Some accounting work will also be required. The ideal candidate is experienced with Yardi Breeze and has a basic understanding of Real Estate and/or Property Management. This role requires the bookkeeper to complete their work on-site. Total time commitment: ~4-5 hrs/wk; 15-20 hrs/month.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage company’s bookkeeping and accounting for four company accounts encompassing ~15 residential and commercial properties
  • Collaborate with owner regarding bookkeeping and/or accounting issues
  • Monitor and report on bookkeeping/accounting related issues
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency with Yardi Breeze Property Management Software
  • Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, and/or other similar fields
  • Knowledge of Property Management fundamentals
  • Experience working in small family-owned businesses

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $50-$90/hr (negotiable within this range depending on level of experience)
  • Flexible work arrangements

  • Schedule: Part-time; specific day(s) to be negotiated. Bookkeeper may work one day per week or come into office each day as needed.
  • Travel requirements: None, aside from regular commute to physical work location.
