Job description

Part-Time P-8 Pilot

Join our expert team as a Part-Time P-8 Pilot, supporting the NAVAIR PMA-290 program office. In this role, you will play a key part in P-8A Software Integration and Test, helping ensure mission systems are fully validated and ready to support fleet operations. This position will be based in the Seattle, WA area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide PMA-290 (P-8A) with analysis and engineering support for software and hardware integration and test, along with incorporation into the MPRA P-8A Naval Aviation Technical Information Products (NATIP) and Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) manuals.
  • Provide recommendations to PMA-290 IPTs regarding the integration and test of the newest version of software to conduct ASW, AAS, and ISR missions.
  • Develop flight deck-related test plans and procedures.
  • Provide inputs to the PMA-290 leadership regarding integration and testing of flight management system and related hardware and software.
  • Summarize results of analysis and investigation, when required, in the form of written and oral briefings.
  • Provide hands-on developmental and regression testing of P-8A flight management systems in the Weapon System Integration Lab (WSIL).

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience as a pilot, and a minimum of two years as an instructor pilot, required.
  • 737 Type Rating. P-8A Patrol Plane Commander and operational experience is required.
  • Test and Evaluation experience, acceptance of aircraft for a sponsor/customer, and experience in managing and leading a test team are required.
  • VP-30 Instructor Pilot and MPRWS Pilot experience is desired.
  • Navy Test Pilot School (NTPS) graduate, desired.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The anticipated hourly salary range for this position is $65.00 - $68.00, commensurate with an individual's experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
