Job description

This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT ENGINEER (INSTRUCTOR) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0606000and is part of the FL AASF 1, National Guard.

Qualifications:AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1.

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.
Military Grades: Enlisted: E5 thru E9
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of aircraft weight and balance computations; aircraft performance data; aircraft records maintenance; and aircraft systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS10 Must have at least 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level; education, or training assisting the pilot in operating various aircraft systems, e.g. hydraulic, fuel, electrical or pressurization to assure safe operation of aircraft; experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, guides and diagrams to correct malfunctions of the assigned aircraft (HH60, UH60, Ch47, UA72); experience applying and interpreting procedures and techniques as described in flight manuals and other applicable technical publications; experience performing in-flight duties to include systems monitoring and interpretation, functional check and troubleshooting of onboard computers and navigational systems, etc; experience which demonstrates ability to provide formal instruction.Education:If you are using Education to qualify for this position:
