Intermediate/Senior Civil Landscape Estimator (Hybrid)

Estimator | Civil Construction | Landscape Construction | Municipal Projects

Location: Greater Hamilton Area
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year based on experience

We are growing our Civil Construction team and are looking for an Intermediate/Senior Civil Landscape Estimator who enjoys preparing competitive bids, solving construction challenges, and working closely with operations to set projects up for success.

This role is ideal for an estimator who is ready to take ownership of projects, contribute to pre-construction planning, and continue growing their career with a collaborative team. Estimating is the core focus of this position, with involvement in project planning, coordination, and successful handoff to operations.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare complete estimates and tender submissions for civil landscape construction projects.

  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.

  • Complete detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates.

  • Analyze labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and supplier requirements.

  • Request, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.

  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.

  • Support value engineering and constructability reviews.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams during the pre-construction process.

  • Assist with successful project handoffs following awarded contracts.

  • Maintain organized estimating documentation and pricing information.

  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practices.

  • Experience using digital estimating and takeoff software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
