Job description

The Role

The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of assigned Parks & Recreation projects (e.g., parks, community recreation facilities, aquatic centers, sports fields/courts, trailheads, and related site amenities). This includes managing, coordinating, and supervising subcontractors, vendors, and internal personnel to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with Willmeng's quality standards. The Project Manager also provides oversight and support to the Superintendent and actively promotes Willmeng's safety culture.

What you will accomplish

  • Lead Parks & Recreation construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality control measures while monitoring project costs and profitability.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Process and manage subcontractor payments, change orders, and monthly cost reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project owners and stakeholders, leading meetings and providing regular status updates.
  • Supervise and mentor project team members, including Superintendents and subcontractors, to maintain strong field coordination and performance.
  • Review construction documents and specifications and ensure compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.
  • Manage project documentation, permits, inspections, and closeout activities efficiently, including coordination with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and Parks & Recreation representatives.

What we would like you to have

  • BS or MS in Construction Engineering preferred, or a BS in Engineering with relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of Project Manager experience preferred.
  • Experience with estimating and conceptual estimating.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with potential clients and public-sector stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, and Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
