Description
Parks and Recreation is recruiting to hire two (2) qualified individuals to fill our Recreation Worker II positions working at Dimond Park Field House (DPFH) one of Juneau's most popular community venues.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position generally works evenings (Monday through Friday) starting at 4:30 p.m. and weekends (between 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.), and may include holidays. The Dimond Park Field House is located in Dimond Park (2961 Riverside Drive).
Typical Responsibilities
This position oversees public use of the Dimond Park Field House, a 28,000-square-foot facility featuring an artificial turf field, elevated track, and other recreation facilities. The Dimond Park Field House is heavily used by youth sports organizations, the Juneau School District, and the general public. The Recreation Aide is responsible for daily operation of the facility, including: retail sales, providing information to customers, completing light cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment. All employees are expected to deliver outstanding customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure:
CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.

Under Alaska Statute 12.62.160 (9) Appointments to this position are offered conditionally, pending the results of a criminal records report (Non-FBI). Human Resources evaluates the results to ensure the applicant does not have any convictions that result in a direct nexus to the primary duties involving supervising minors.
