THE ROLE
The Parking Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining parking facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for guests and staff. Reporting to the Parking Operations Director, this role supports daily parking operations and special event setup.
This position requires hands-on work including operating equipment such as sweepers and utility vehicles, performing basic maintenance and repairs, and assisting with traffic flow and parking logistics. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Parking Facility Maintenance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of parking areas to maximize space usage and ensure a positive guest experience.

  • Operate parking lot equipment including sweepers and utility vehicles (e.g., Gator).

  • Lift, position, and remove barricades to open and close parking areas as needed.

  • Perform basic facility and equipment maintenance and repairs.

Equipment Operation & Support
  • Operate street sweepers or similar equipment to maintain parking surfaces.

  • Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of revenue control equipment.

Event & Operations Support
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of special event parking programs.

  • Support gate guarding and parking flow during events and peak periods.

  • Complete nightly reports including basic reconciliation tasks.

General Operations
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily assignments.

  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exercise sound judgment and respond effectively to changing conditions.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support Parking Operations.
KEY DELIVERABLES
  • Clean, safe, and well-maintained parking facilities.

  • Reliable operation of parking equipment and systems.

  • Efficient support of event parking operations and traffic flow.

  • Timely completion of assigned maintenance and operational tasks.

  • Positive guest experience within parking areas.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two (2) or more years of maintenance or related experience; hospitality industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with basic facility maintenance and repair.

  • Familiarity with power tools, street sweepers, and outdoor equipment.

  • Basic math skills for completing reports and reconciliations.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures, tools, and equipment used in maintenance operations.

  • Strong communication skills including oral, written, and listening abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Customer service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff.

Special Requirements, Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License required.
    Power-assisted equipment certification required (or ability to obtain).

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position operates primarily outdoors in parking facilities and requires exposure to varying weather conditions. Physical requirements may include standing, walking, and working outdoors for extended periods (hot and cold conditions), lifting, moving, and positioning barricades and equipment, operating machinery and power tools, bending, lifting, and performing physical labor as needed.
