Job description

Lot Associate Duties and Responsibilities:

 Core duties you will be responsible for as an Ace Hardware lot associate:

  • Greeting customers as they enter and leave the store
  • Loading purchases into customer vehicles using hand trucks and other equipment
  • Assisting customers with propane tank exchanges/fills
  • Keeping entrance and exit doors and lot clean and hazard-free
  • Providing carry-outs for large items, and bagged goods
  • Checking receipts to prevent unlawful removal of goods from premises
  • Pallet maintenance, help with Garden set-up
  • Projects, Assembling inventory and Cross-Training in other departments
  •  Lot associates spend much of their days outdoors assisting customers with loading and unloading items. You will also serve as one of the first friendly faces that shoppers see when pulling into the parking lot.

The core requirements for succeeding in this fast-paced retail role include:

  • Customer service skills: You will need patience, empathy, and communication abilities to assist shoppers politely.
  • Problem-solving: Think on your feet to resolve customer complaints or disputes.
