Job description

Piper USD 203 has openings for secondary paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year. Starting wage: $16.20/hour with increases based on education and experience. All interested and qualified candidates are asked to apply as soon as possible. The position is open until filled.
Qualifications:
  1. High school graduate
  2. Experience in working with young people
  3. Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Job Goal:
To provide instructional services under the supervision of licensed or certified special education professionals in an accredited or approved special education program.
Essential Job Functions:
  1. Provides essential supervision, monitoring, and ensures student safety
  2. Performs errands as tasks as instructed as needed
  3. Under supervision, works directly with students in various capacities as dictated by the student's IEP
  4. Establishes a supportive relationship with students, staff, and parents
  5. Student data collection and record-keeping, such as maintaining observational and anecdotal records
  6. Assisting the special teacher with paperwork related to support provided to students with exceptionalities for whom the paraeducator is responsible
  7. Assist with physical needs of students as directed.Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
  8. Upholds the highest confidential and professional standards in all forms of communication, daily job functions, interactions with staff, students and parents
  9. Must be able to assist, lift, accommodate students in wheel chairs, walkers, and/or assist in other motor skill activities as necessary.
  10. Assist with personal care needs of students as necessary.
  11. Complies with all district policies, rules, and regulations.
