Job description

Profile: The Maintenance and Repair Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CCTV systems, special electromechanical equipment, tools, and robotic systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, an ability to diagnose and solve complex problems, and a commitment to ensuring the reliable operation of critical equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Learn and understand the processes and technology used by Fer-Pal.
  • Assemble, maintain, and repair CCTV cameras and related hardware.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on CCTV cameras, tools, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot video feed, storage, cables, wiring systems, and system integration issues.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on various electro-mechanical systems.
  • Calibrate and adjust profilers and other robotic tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Manage inventory and request replacements or repairs as needed.
  • Maintain and repair robotic systems used by CCTV, cleaning, lining, and field teams.
  • Diagnose faults and perform troubleshooting on robotic control systems and mechanical components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of robotic systems.
  • Work with engineering teams to implement upgrades and modifications to robotic systems.
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to assemble new equipment and prototypes.
  • Provide equipment-related feedback and information for CCTV operator training.
  • Support service calls by addressing potential issues and problems coming from CCTV operators and field staff.
  • Provide feedback and support information to the internal development team and engineers involved in the design of electronic/electrical components of a system.
  • Continuously work on improving knowledge related to vision inspection methods and technologies, robotic and remotely controlled devices, and navigation systems.
  • Participate as required in prototype manufacturing activities (produce components, assemble prototypes and circuit boards, perform system validation, fine-tune mechanisms, and assist with installation at Fer-Pal sites).
  • Execute other activities and tasks assigned by the company as needed.
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping at all times.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair of CCTV, electro-mechanical equipment, and/or robotic systems

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, and robotic programming is a plus
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work on-call or irregular hours as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required
