Job description

Job Summary: 

The primary function of this position is to support all equipment and employees within all the paint and paint preparation departments.  Familiarity with PD2K paint mixing and spraying systems is a plus.  This role is key in keeping all our painting equipment functioning properly, maintaining the cleanliness of equipment, and ensuring painters are doing their part in any routine maintenance on such equipment.  This position will also monitor paint inventory levels and effectively communicate any parts or equipment needed to his/her team lead, supervisor, and maintenance.  This job interacts frequently with the following departments: paint, paint prep, quality, maintenance, warehouse, assembly, and sub-assembly areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Work safely and comply with all safety guidelines.
  • Utilize safe methods of handling material, including chemicals, required in all painting processes.
  • Ensure all employees are compliant with paint safety guidelines and always have the proper PPE.
  • Perform various mixing techniques, including testing of viscosity levels and the effects achieved from different concentrations.
  • Monitor visible emissions from paint booths.
  • Ensure proper masking techniques are being performed by painters to meet our quality standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and rectify any defects or imperfections in painted parts.
  • Perform various cleaning and pre-treatment processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain, setup, use, and clean of all equipment to perform each painting process.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and professional area that maximizes safety and efficiency.
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work well with others and act in a professional manner.
  • At least one year’s experience and adequate proficiency with paint, paint guns and all their parts, paint mixing systems – PD2K paint mixing systems is a plus. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and/or oral instructions.
  • Capability to execute and complete required tasks with little or no supervision in required time.
  • The position is based out of the Moore, South Carolina office.
  • At least one year experience operating and maintaining processing equipment, this includes spray guns, hoses, etc.
  • Knowledge of paint mixing techniques and ratios.
  • Knowledge and ensuring proper usage of ovens and paint curing/drying techniques.
