Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Pay: $18.00/hour

Job Summary

Responsible for the in-house production of paints, glues and other coatings. Verifies that all products are made according to specifications. Performs quality control tests and makes any necessary adjustments to bring products within accepted performance and quality control range. Keeps accurate quality control and production records.

Key Responsibilities

Production (60%)

  • Prepares work area for daily production.
  • Determines that all the raw materials are available for daily production.
  • Weighs out raw materials per specific batch tickets
  • Mixes paints in dispersing machines as per manufacturing specifications
  • Transfers finished (and QC approved) paints to bulk storage or to filling machine.
  • Cleans area at the end of the day in preparation for next day.

Quality Control (15%)

  • Performs quality control tests on paints as per specifications.
  • Enters QC data into computer database.
  • Makes necessary adjustments to paint based upon QC tests.

Record Keeping (15%)

  • Fills out production batch tickets.
  • Enters production data into computer database.
  • Prepares weekly summary of production.

Administration & Maintenance (10%)

  • Cleans work area at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains visually check of raw material inventory levels
  • Performs quarterly raw material inventory counts.
  • Maintains manufacturing equipment
  • Mixer, Forklift, Pumps, Flow meters, Dust Collector, etc.

Requirements

  • Must be organized, self-motivated and dependable.
  • Good communication skills – able to convey observations verbally to others from production procedures.
  • Must have basic computer skills – simple spreadsheet and word processing skills.
  • Must be mechanically oriented. Able to handle equipment with moving parts.
  • Valid driver's license and forklift experience.
  • Ability to handle simultaneous multi-task environment and responsibilities.

Working Conditions

  • This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to paint fumes and loud noise.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including all shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Temperatures range from a low of 50 degrees in the winter to 90 or above in the summer.
  • Dust and dirt can be airborne and at times may impact air quality.
  • Majority of work is conducted while standing or walking.
  • Need to lift heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) and other similar physical activity.
