Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for Painting projects as efficiently and promptly as possible. Focusing on all the details that are provided in the production drawings and on the job traveler portion of the work order.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop a work strategy for each project they are painting to be sure the portion of the project is completed within the estimated time, and materials are allocated.
  • Ability to acquire the proper paint formulas needed per the color formula work instruction.
  • Ability to properly mix paint per color formulas.
  • Ability to apply all finish coats properly and accurately to meet the standard quality of work.
  • Ability to prep all products properly prior to applying primer and finish coats to ensure a quality finish is achieved the first time.
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships with other staff members in all departments to ensure the other departments have ample time to complete their part of the project on time.
  • Read and understand work orders and production drawings.
  • Properly log time in E2 for each project they are working on.
  • Confirm the materials used on each project throughout the Painting process.
  • Properly read a scale for mixing paint.
  • Proper disposal of used waste materials to meet all safety regulations covered in the safety manual.
  • Maintain all equipment being used.
  • Responsible for cleaning paint booths, mixing station, and drying area at the end of every work shift to maintain the company’s cleanliness standard.
  • Ensure supplies are not wasted, and product loss is kept to a minimum.
  • Always maintain the proper inventory needed for the paint department.
  • Attends all safety meetings and completes all necessary training assigned by the safety manager. Obey all safety rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all employees.
  • Wear proper PPE throughout the prep and painting process.
  • Obeys all company rules and regulations.
  • Willing to assist other team members as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience as a painter in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work in a manufacturing environment.
