Job description

Title: Industrial Paint Supervisor 
Company: Global Power Components – www.globalpowercomponents.com
Location: Milwaukee, WI (onsite 5-days/week)
Hire Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Overview:
Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and metal modular equipment centers for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment.  As a result of our expansion, we are looking for an Industrial Paint Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Production Manager to meet production goals
  • Coordinate daily activities of various production departments, delegating job responsibilities to appropriate shift personnel
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers
  • Plan and organize work for assigned workers to meet the schedule
  • Maintain production workflow between workers and departments
  • Monitor all production for quality and make adjustments as necessary
  • Monitor all the changes in the production schedule and make workflow modifications accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and solve production problems as they occur
  • Motivate team members to complete assignments in a timely, accurate manner, assuring effective use of all personnel
  • Train new production employees to bring them up to speed in a timely manner
  • Check all production equipment to ensure it is in good working order
  • Work in a safe manner and promote safety to all employees
  • Effectively use raw materials to reduce waste
  • Communicate with all levels in the organization so all employees are aware of schedules and changes and other information related to the jobs they have been assigned to complete
  • Inspect products/equipment for defects/malfunctions

Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in an effective, safe manner
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, but not required
  • Welding experience helpful, but not required
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Project management skills a plus
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop and climb ladders
  • Ability to work 40 to 50 hours per week on 2nd shift
