PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter to support one of the aviation industry's most respected organizations in Wichita, Kansas. What You'll Do

As an Aircraft Painter, you'll perform a variety of specialized paint and finishing operations on aerospace components and assemblies, including:

  • Apply aerospace primers, topcoats, and specialty finishes to simple and complex aircraft structures

  • Paint aircraft sections, cargo components, and doors, including work on 787 programs

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and removing contaminants such as grease, dirt, rust, and old coatings

  • Mix paints and coatings to exact specifications and color requirements

  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, schematics, and planning documents

  • Select proper paint applications and coating methods based on engineering requirements

  • Conduct touch-ups, rework, modifications, and product changes as required

  • Utilize precision measuring equipment to verify coating quality and compliance

  • Perform self-inspections on in-process and completed work

  • Complete daily air quality logs and maintain painting documentation

  • Conduct routine maintenance on paint guns, sprayers, and related equipment

  • Move products through manufacturing processes and support workflow efficiency

  • Train and assist team members as needed

  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of respirators, protective suits, gloves, safety eyewear, and other PPE

  • Ensure compliance with BAC, OSHA, customer specifications, and other regulatory requirements


Required Qualifications

We're looking for skilled professionals who bring:

  • At least 5 years of aircraft painting experience

  • Mid-level to senior-level aerospace painting expertise

  • Experience applying aerospace paints, primers, and finish coatings

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions

  • Strong color-matching capabilities and the ability to distinguish subtle variations in color, shade, and brightness

  • Experience operating paint guns, spray equipment, power tools, and measuring instruments

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE

  • Flexibility to work any shift as business needs require


Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates may also possess:

  • Experience supporting Boeing 787 programs

  • Background painting aircraft fuselage sections, cargo components, and doors

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience in a production environment

Pay Details: $46.43 per hour
