Job Summary:
The Pain Management Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing skilled nursing care during adult interventional pain management procedures. This role involves patient assessments, monitoring, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced procedural unit. The RN will manage a patient ratio of 1:3, support procedural workflow, and ensure high standards of care using EPIC charting. The position requires proficiency in pain management, PACU, or OR nursing, with a minimum of two years' experience and current ACLS and BLS certifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled nursing care during interventional pain management procedures for adult patients.
  • Perform patient assessments and monitor patient status throughout procedures and recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic medical records.
  • Float between two facility locations based on skill level and operational needs.
  • Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1 RN to 3 patients.
  • Support pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure recovery in a 10-bed pre/post unit.
  • Adhere to facility policies including dress code and procedural protocols.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in pain management, PACU, or Operating Room environments.
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and patient monitoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience specifically in interventional pain management nursing.
  • Familiarity with anesthesia care during procedures.
  • Previous experience working in a procedural or surgical setting.
Special Considerations:
  • No first-time travel nurses accepted; references required with submission.
  • No weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts required.
  • Float between two facility locations (Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs) may be required based on skill level.
  • Facility dress code requires plain black scrubs with no emblems; scrubs are not provided.
  • Work environment is a busy procedural unit with a high volume of cases (approximately 45 procedures per day).
Scheduling:
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday with variable start times based on case schedules, generally starting between 0545 and 0730 and ending around 1700.
  • Shift times flex according to surgeon case load and procedural demands.
