Position Title: Teacher Elementary Art (Anticipated)
Assignment: District Building
Labor Relationship: PAEA Agreement
Reports To: Building Principal


Position Summary:

The Palmerton Area School District anticipates an opening for an Elementary Art Teacher. The successful candidate will provide standards-based visual arts instruction that fosters creativity, artistic skills, and appreciation for the arts in elementary students.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
? Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
? Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate in Art Education (K12)

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
? Knowledge of visual arts content including drawing, painting, sculpture, and design
? Ability to deliver standards-based instruction aligned to Pennsylvania Academic Standards for the Arts and Humanities
? Ability to differentiate instruction and assess student learning
? Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
? Strong communication and collaboration skills
? Ability to effectively use instructional technology





Responsibilities:

? Plan and deliver engaging art instruction aligned to curriculum and standards
? Assess student progress through projects and performance-based measures
? Create a classroom environment that supports creativity and respect
? Manage materials, equipment, and classroom procedures safely
? Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress
? Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school initiatives
