Flex Fulfillment Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled fulfillment assistant to join our team at Coffee Unplugged LLC. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging, online fulfillment, and wholesale fulfillment. Your ability to adapt and work across various departments will be essential in meeting our evolving needs and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
As a Flex Fulfillment Assistant, you will be responsible for packaging coffee to precise weights, managing product quality, and maintaining equipment while adhering to stringent food safety protocols. Additionally, you will assist with picking and packing orders for both online and wholesale fulfillment. Your role will require strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Online Fulfillment:

  • Processes online and store fulfillment orders, pulling materials; packing boxes, and placing orders in the designated delivery areas
  • Performs general stocking duties on a daily basis including properly labeling, storing and stocking products in/on shelves or pallets.
  • Receives incoming merchandise against purchase orders to ensure the shipment is accurate.
  • Inspects incoming merchandise for flaws and damages for quality control.
  • Conducts quarterly inventory checks.
Wholesale Fulfillment:
  • Picking and packing for our wholesale customer orders to ensure all boxed items are correct, properly wrapped & secure for shipment or delivery
  • Ability to identify and label contents and notate on each box to match with packing lists
  • Preparing packages for shipment and/or deliveries, including palletizing with wrap and strap, in an organized manner.
  • Loading and unloading of boxes weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Participate with the monthly and quarterly inventory counts to ensure accuracy
  • Matching and applying shipping labels, assembling and taping boxes, and ensuring accuracy on all shipments
  • Working with a small team to meet all deadlines in accordance with our daily schedule
  • Ability to follow direction and adhere to established priorities set by our SOPs
Packaging and Fulfillment:
  • Post-roasting coffee production process, including quality checks, grinding, bagging, and packaging, ensuring quality standards and production targets are consistently met.
  • Recognize and assess variations in product color and measure color ranges accurately.
  • Track and monitor product quality throughout the packaging and fulfillment process.
  • Prevent cross-contamination of products to maintain purity and safety.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly stock counts of necessary materials for packaging and product.
Compliance and Maintenance Oversight:
  • Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the team to ensure all activities meet OSHA safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Food Safety Culture: Support and promote a strong food safety culture within the organization.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Workplace: Keep the work environment clean, organized, and safe.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Work with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is properly maintained to avoid downtime.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a production or warehouse environment, preferably in food or beverage is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to operate and maintain production equipment
  • Understanding of food safety protocols and experience in maintaining a clean working environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Comfortable using computers and various software applications related to order processing.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to perform all tasks with a high level of urgency and accuracy
  • Ability to handle a pallet jack for loading and unloading
Job Type:
Full Time: M-F, 40 hour work week
(Some evenings and occasional weekend shifts are required)
